On 17 November 2012
to 19 November 2012, Fuhua
Secondary School’s NPCC Unit organized an Annual Unit Camp which involves the
Sec 1 to Sec 3 cadets. The camp objective is to expose the Sec 1s to NPCC camps
and also to bond the cadets from all levels, together.
The cadets had a first-hand
experience in camping in the field instead of the usual grass patch in between
the classroom blocks. A mini amazing race around the school was held on the
first day which involved stations that allowed them to get down and dirty but
was cut short and replaced by a series of bonding games due to the wet weather.
Nevertheless, the cadets enjoyed themselves as they tried out new games such as
the simultaneous skipping game while they work together to meet the objective
of the games. Later on in the evening, the cadets tested out their courage and
bravery as they ventured around the school in pairs and completed the Night
Walk.
    
The next day, the cadets were brought to Sentosa for an
amazing race which stretches from Palawan Beach to Siloso Beach, end to end.
The cadets were tested of their endurance as they walked from station to
station under the scorching sun, fighting against time to complete all 5
stations. After which, the cadets gathered back at Emerald Pavilion to have a
tally match to decide the group champion! Later in the evening back at school, the
cadets had a buffet for dinner and the night marked a special occasion for Fuhua
NPCC unit as this year’s annual camp is our first time having a real campfire.

The camp was ended with a prize presentation, aimed to identify
those who have done well and stood out from the others during the camp and
deserved awards such as Best Male Camper, Best Female Camper and Best Group
Leader. There is even a Best Group award to congratulate the group which have
done well throughout the camp. The Best Male Camper was awarded to Kaamil for
his responsibility and never-dying spirit which whereas Si Yi was the Best
Female Camper for this year’s unit camp. On the other hand, Daniel was awarded
as the Best Group Leader because of his fatherly figure which never failed in continuously
caring for his group members whereas Group 1 won themselves the Best Group
award for maintaining a positive attitude throughout the amazing race at
Sentosa no matter the weather.
Congratulations to all cadets for actively participating in
all camp activities and also to all Cadet Leaders who have made this camp a
success. J
